Cody Gakpo recorded an assist for the Netherlands on Saturday evening as six Liverpool players saw international action for their countries.
Gakpo played a key role in his nation’s 2-0 victory over Finland in their Group G opener of World Cup qualifying.
His inch-perfect cross into the penalty area for Denzel Dumfries added to Mephis Depay’s earlier opener and helped earn three points in Helsinki.
Alongside the Reds forward – who featured for 85 minutes of the fixture – were teammates Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch and Jeremie Frimpong with all three completing the full game.
Elsewhere, Curtis Jones was selected to start for England as they overcame Andorra 1-0 in a Group K meeting, with the midfielder featuring for 80 minutes ahead of his substitution.
In friendly action, meanwhile, Conor Bradley and Northern Ireland played out a 2-1 away defeat to Denmark and Kostas Tsimikas was an unused substitute for Greece in their 4-1 home victory over Slovakia.
