KUWAIT: The World Health Organization (WHO) Country Office in Kuwait and Alnowair have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in key public health areas, including mental health and wellbeing, universal health coverage, and community engagement. The signing ceremony took place on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 12 PM, marking a shared commitment to improving health outcomes and empowering communities in Kuwait.
The MoU outlines joint efforts to: Promote mental health and wellbeing by developing and implementing programs that empower communities to address health challenges, including substance use. Support national health plans for universal health coverage (UHC) through the design and deployment of community-based health interventions; and engage youth and communities in health advocacy, awareness campaigns, and initiatives that highlight the connection between environmental sustainability and public health.
Dr Assad Hafeez, WHO Representative in Kuwait, emphasized the importance of this partnership: “This agreement reflects our shared belief in the power of positive community engagement and the critical role of mental health, youth, and the environment in building healthier societies.” Sheikha Intisar Salem Al Ali Al-Sabah, Alnowair’s Founder & Chairwoman, stated: “At Alnowair, we believe a nation’s prosperity starts with the wellbeing of its people.
