Liverpool FC Women have two of their players representing Wales at this month’s European Championship.
Gemma Evans and Ceri Holland are part of the Dragons’ squad for the 16-team tournament in Switzerland, which is the women’s team’s first appearance at such an event.
Wales beat the Republic of Ireland in a play-off to secure their spot and were subsequently drawn into Group D, alongside England, France and the Netherlands.
“It’s going to be the proudest moment of my life, I think,” Holland said. “It’s something that we’ve worked towards as a group for many, many years and many players before us have got us to where we are today.
“To represent our country in a major tournament, it was always a dream of mine since I’ve been a little girl.”
Rhian Wilkinson’s side begin their journey against the Dutch in Lucerne on Saturday evening (5pm BST kick-off).
They face France in St. Gallen on Wednesday July 9 (8pm BST) and then wrap up the group phase versus current trophy holders England on Sunday July 13 (8pm BST).
The top two finishers in each pool progress to the quarter-finals, which will be played between July 16-19.
Last-four ties are scheduled for July 22 and 23, and the final is to be staged at FC Basel’s St. Jakob-Park on Sunday July 27.
